Legal

Consumer health data.

How Vane Health, Inc. (“Vane”, “we”) collects, uses and shares consumer health data, and how you can see it, delete it or withdraw your consent.

Draft pending counsel review. This notice is not in effect yet. It shows what we plan to publish.

Who this notice covers

This notice is written for the Washington My Health My Data Act and similar state laws. It covers this website and, when it launches, the Vane app.

It does not cover medical records kept by the medical practice that provides clinical care. Those records are protected under the practice’s Notice of Privacy Practices.

What we collect

Consumer health data is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and identifies your past, present or future health. We may collect:

  • The programs you say you are interested in, such as weight, ED, hair or testosterone, and the state you choose, when you join the waitlist.
  • Your answers in the Clarity check, and the email address you give us to receive a link to your result.
  • The drug name, strength and quantity you enter in the Rx price checker, and the first three digits of your ZIP code. We do not ask for your name, email or phone there.
  • The questions you ask the concierge in the Vane app, once it launches.
  • Inferences we draw from the above, such as which program may interest you.

We do not collect precise location or biometric data, and we do not set up geofences around places where health care is provided.

Where it comes from

From you, when you use a form, the Clarity check, the Rx price checker or the app. We do not buy consumer health data.

Why we collect it

  • To do what you asked: send the launch notice, show prices, send the link to your Clarity result, or answer your question.
  • To keep the service secure and working.
  • To meet our legal duties.

We collect consumer health data only with your consent, or when it is needed to provide the service you asked for. On our forms, the consent to collect health information is a separate box that is never checked for you. Marketing email is a separate choice, also unchecked.

Who we share it with

We share consumer health data only with service providers that process it for us under contract, and only to provide the service you asked for:

  • Cloud hosting and email delivery (Amazon Web Services).
  • The customer records platform that stores waitlist and form entries (Pulse, run by Cara Medical).
  • The AI model provider that processes Clarity answers to produce your result (Anthropic), under terms that do not allow it to keep your data or train on it.
  • The medical practice that provides clinical care, only when you choose to start care.

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it for advertising. There are no ad pixels on this site. Google Analytics runs only on a few pages without health forms, only after you agree, and never receives health answers or email addresses.

Your rights

  • Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and see it.
  • Get a list of the third parties and affiliates we shared it with, and how to contact them.
  • Ask us to delete it. We also pass the request to our service providers.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Appeal if we turn down your request.

We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

How to use your rights

Email support@vanehealth.com with the subject “Consumer health data request”. Tell us which right you want to use.

We check that the request comes from you using the email address we have on file. We will never ask for health details to do this.

We answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we tell you why and may take up to 45 more days. Requests are free, up to twice a year.

If we turn down your request, reply to our answer with the word “Appeal”. We answer appeals within 45 days. If you are a Washington resident and we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General (opens in a new tab).

How long we keep it

We keep consumer health data only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it for, then delete it. Retention periods for each kind of data will be listed here before this notice takes effect.
